Frampton Marsh, Lincolnshire:- 31st August 2013.

Arrived at Frampton about midday, and walked 1/2 mile along path to Cut End.
Along with other birders we found this Wryneck feeding on the ground, it became
very wary and went deeper into the base of a bush.  A passerby startled the bird,
which then flew onto the edge and posed for us to take these shots.
I have not seen a Wryneck since the mid to late 70's Holme Dunes comes to mind, what a fantastic bird -probably the best for the year- well worth the walk, wet foot and the blisters.
